PROCESSES
It takes a lot of experience to get it right. Economies of scale enable World Industrial Products to tailor production runs that meet specific customer needs. Our expertise in proprietary custom manufacturing and material processes allows us to work smartly for you.
SAND CASTING
Sand Casting is used to make molded parts. Typically, aluminum and iron alloys as well as white bronze. Sand-cast tooling is generally lower cost and best suited for lower volume parts. Specific materials/alloys available upon request.
DIE-CASTING
This high-pressure molding results in a more unified part. Generally, clean surface finish and good dimensional accuracy (as good a 0.2% of the casting dimension). The precision of Die-Casting allows for minimum secondary machining in many cases. Die-casting is intended for high volume usage. Tooling costs are higher due to the construction of the molds. Specific materials/alloys available upon request.
GRAVITY CASTING
This process differs from Sand Casting in that it employs permanent mold tooling. Permanent mold castings provide better dimensional consistency, and less porosity, than sand castings. Specific materials/alloys available upon request.
INVESTMENT CASTING
Also known as the lost wax process, Investment Casting allows for intricate shapes with near-precision accuracy. Parts produced by Investment Casting often do not require further machining unless very precise tolerances are required. Specific materials/alloys available upon request.
STAMPING
Sheet metal forming is utilized to structure metal into specific shapes and sizes. The common techniques include bending and forming, rolling, stamping, punching and welding. Additional capabilities include deep draw stamping and cold headed forging. Specific materials/alloys available upon request.
MACHINING
We employ machining techniques including, but not limited to, CNC machining (for high precision), drilling, tapping, turning and grinding as needed. Specific materials/alloys available upon request.
ASSEMBLIES
We offer full assembly capabilities. The value added by pre-assembling parts at the factory level can greatly reduce the overall cost of your finished product.
